Vita
René Kersting, born 1989 in Düsseldorf, first studied architecture at the Peter Behrens School of Arts in Düsseldorf. From 2013 to 2016 he studied „Baukunst“ under Karl-Heinz Petzinka, Max Dudler and Nathalie de Vries at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. 2015 he was awarded with the Gargonza Arts Award for architecture. As Meisterschüler of Karl-Heinz Petzinka he graduated with the certificate for Baukunst with honours in 2016.
Since 2016 René Kersting is working independet in between architecture and art. Always in focus is the human as an emotional sensitive being surrounded by space. By this he leaves the fundamental questions, requirements and restrictions of architecture, transports subjects of architecture into abstract art, draws conclusions and turns them into architectural works.
Architecture becomes art - art becomes architecture
2020 he was called to the Deutsche Werkbund.
