Olga Cobușcean (MSc ETH Arch) has been a research assistant at the Department of Visual Arts since January 2023 at the Faculty of Architecture of the RWTH Aachen University.
She was born and raised in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova. In 2016, she completed her training as interior designer at the College of Fine Arts "Alexandru Plămădeală" in Chișinău. Between 2016 and 2019 she completed her bachelor’s degree in architecture at the RWTH Aachen University. She then worked at Kuehn Malvezzi in Berlin and Karamuk Kuo Architects in Zurich. Between 2020 and 2023 she completed her master’s degree in architecture at ETH Zurich.
Parallel to her studies, she worked in Aachen as a student assistant at the Institute of Descriptive Geometry, at the Department of Visual Arts, at the Department of Spatial Design and at the Chair of Structural Design. In Zurich, she was a member of the Parity Group at ETH Zurich, as well as board member and co-president of the student association architektura. Between 2018 and 2022 she was a scholarship holder of Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes. December 2022 she was awarded the prize of the League of Students from Moldova, in recognition of her work and commitment as part of the Moldovan Diaspora.
She is interested in architecture as a collective process of creation and processes of continuing to build and not building, in architectural representation and mediation, and in the future of analogue media in an increasingly digital world.
